Impossible
Peter Randazzo: “untitled solo, which I choreographed, was a human figure in a fabric bag. Susan MacPherson, Amelia and I all danced it.
But when Amelia did it, you simply could not believe it was a human being in that bag. She made physical impossibilities. When she arc’d sideways her head almost touched her foot.
Susan and I made interesting shapes. Amelia was doing something entirely different.”
Dianne Buxton: "I remember the premiere of that solo by Randazzo. The dancer is in a bag, you could see the contours of the figure – and the solo was about them getting out. Peter danced it opening week, then they alternated. When Amelia did it, it was mind boggling. The experience was of watching something that was not possible, what she was doing!”
